Pinterest Pick - Lunch Ideas

My Pinterest Pick this week is food related.  I can't help it.  I love it.

My choice today so happens to be about lunch ideas.  Partly due to the new Rubbermaid Lunch Blox.  Aren't they so cute!  And they lock like Lego's!

The Pinterest link for the lunch box ideas is here.
I think these would be perfect in the Rubbermaid Lunch Blox!!  I have to start making sure I eat better to get my health stats better.

I am inspired now to start making unique lunches!!

And really convinced I need to buy some of those Lunch Blox. :)

Results

A short and sweet one today.

I found out that I have low just about everything...
well except for high bad cholesterol and glucose.

Good news was I supposedly didn't have a gluten allergy... but I hadn't eaten any gluten to have the antibodies show up.  So wheat/gluten free will continue!

She seriously said she was surprised at how well I am functioning.

I said it was my normal so at this point I don't know any better.

More protein and veggies were prescribed along with B and D vitamins, fish oil, and a few others.
Nothing too outrageous compared to what I have had in the past.

More tests were ordered
(needle-y blood ones so I am not too excited).

A 6 week follow up was scheduled.

And hopefully I will notice a difference quickly.

Other than that, the week of being the sub-in boss is over.  I get to sew up some cutie things this weekend.  And I will probably have one very expensive trip to the grocery store.

Peek into My Life: Lunch

I giggled when I saw my lunch all laid out at work and I thought it was interesting enough to share.  (Oh and I love my new banner for this random new post theme and yup that's my family).

Super healthy you say?  I agree.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to find out the results from all of the tests I had done in the last month.  I am not expecting anything serious and I have a feeling that I know much of what will be said.  I'll catch you all up on that tomorrow.

Gluten-Free Food Review - Vermont Village Organic Applesauce

Today's Gluten-Free Food Review is so cute and I have to say pretty yummy too.

It is a four pack of organic applesauce.  But it is not just any applesauce... it's STRAWBERRY BANANA!!  I was curious what it would be like with that combination.  Vermont Village Organic is the company and it seems they have lots of different items.  I am curious about the berry flavor.

 So cute!

 Get ready for the reveal!

I have to say it was an interesting combination with the strawberry and banana with the applesauce.  I think the texture was a little thicker than the regular applesauce.  The taste of those very distinct flavors was good.  A little shocking at first, as I was expecting a hint of the strawberry and banana.  Nope, they are the stars of that show.

Overall I enjoyed it, but if you are not the biggest fan of strawberry and banana you might want to skip it.

Taggie Blanket Revisioned

Do you recognize these photos?  I sure hope so!  Notice the fabric hanging over the side of the pack and play?  I hid that from my previous post.  That's what I get to share with you today!

Since we were going to make the blanket in the style of his first taggie blanket, Jackie was tasked with picking out what ribbons she wanted to use.  We were standing in the ribbon aisle for quite some time - I have to say not as long as I would have been deciding.  This is what we finally ended up with.
We decided that the animal prints worked well with the theme of the blanket.

The blanket was going to be twice the size of the one I made before... which meant it was 2 feet by 2 feet!  We decided the order of the ribbons.  Cut and cut and cut.  Jackie helped me place them all and pinned.

All pinned and ready to go.

Then it was time to sew.  I checked each of the corners to see which would be the best to use for turning (yes I am partially paranoid that one day I won't be able to turn it through).  Once that was decided I got to sewing.  But, it was a little different than at home.  Jackie's table is very high.  To the point were my feet are not on the floor when sitting on the chair.  So that means that I got to try my hand at sewing while standing up.
Yes I am using purple thread to sew the blanket.  I mean you can't see the thread I use from the outside. :)
That wine glass was holding very delicious Blueberry Blush from The Georgia Winery
It was all sewn and turned and ironed to look so pretty.
This was the first time I had ever ironed on a towel!

It was so BIG and jungley!!  Jackie loved it.  Unfortunately we had to wash the thing before we could give it to the cutie pie.

The little one was using it to push himself around on the floor.  It was so cute!  I will have to see if I have video of this to share.

I'm wearing a cute pink sweater at work today... I can't believe I am wearing a sweater in the middle of summer in Florida! All because the office gets cold.

What I'm Reading Monday - Half Brother

This past week I felt very accomplished.  I finished two, count that TWO books!

I finished up listening to Nightshade and it was amazing.  I really enjoyed the whole story.  I was sad to find the ending didn't conclude the story.  I am freaking out because I really dislike when stories don't end, but I am desperate to find out what happens next.  I have yet to look up if the next books are formatted for audiobooks or not.

I then started As Simple As It Seems by Sarah Weeks.  I was ready for a short and sweet story since I had just finished my second 8 or more disk book.  It was a nice book and the voice was very young sounding.  The story was fun and interesting.  I enjoyed learning about Verbena and her new friend next door.  And the book was over before I knew it and I could start another one.

The one that I started was Half Brother.  It so far it is very good and the first one that has a male reader.  It took a little getting used too, but I think I got it now.  I find myself getting very mad at the father and laughing at the son.  I would like more story about the chimp and what he does.  I understand that Zan is not the main character, but I sure like him a whole lot.  I just switched to the third disk this morning and hopefully will switch disks this afternoon.

I am still near the beginning of Lola. I think I read for about 10 minutes since I first started it.  Hopefully I will have some time this week to read it and maybe even finish it!

Happy Monday everyone!

Pinterest Pick - Bathtub cost free toy!

So I have no idea what is going on but Pinterest sucks right now and all of the images are not showing up.  I did click on one and it said something like Pinners were reporting that it could contain bad images.... whatever it is of freaking ice cubes!

Anyway, here is the link.  I think it sounds really cool to color ice cubes to use in the bath tub!

[Source]

With Pinterest sucking here is the link to the actual website the idea is from.

I think I would even have fun with this in the bathtub.  Watching the ice cube get smaller and smaller and the water in the bathtub changing!

Happy soaking and lets hope Pinterest gets it act together!
