I must apologize no real post today. I had a MAJOR project at work and didn't get to take my normal lunch. Yay for deadlines.
Anyway the regularly schedule programing will return tomorrow with a Pinterest Pick. :)
Hope everyone is staying dry with all of this wet weather in Florida.

Welcome to the Jungle! - Onesie
Here is the next cutie thing that I made for Caleb.
Jackie loves it. I even made a few other things in this fabric (which I have to wait and show you later).
This is the super cute fabric that Jackie picked. You can see the tie tracings I did with a white fabric pencil.
The knot part of the tie pinned and ready for sewing.
The tie sewn to itself and pinned to the onesie.
Tie all sewn!! And the back is made so the monkey peeks out!
And the young man of the hour. Wearing the tie. I have more pictures of this little man all dressed up but I can't show them yet because the other things are hiding in the backgrounds.
I miss this little guy so much and I can't wait to get started on the quilt I am going to make for him. I'll give you a hint... it is more jungle!

Gluten-Free Food Review - It's BACON!!!
Today's gluten-free food review is very delicious and able to be cooked in the microwave.
It is Uncured Sunday Bacon by Applegate Naturals (part of Applegate Farms). I had several of their products before trying this bacon and was pleasantly please with each one. I figured why buy the cheap stuff and possibly eat bad stuff, when I could spend more money and eat gluten free! I was going to be putting the bacon in my egg things so I knew I had to cook them first. That's why I checked the package to make sure there were microwave instructions. I just hate getting popped with the bacon grease.
Here is my lovely bacon fresh from the package ready to be cooked!
And the after shot! All cooked and crispy. I enjoyed the flavor very much and it was crispy and wonderful.
Although I don't have a picture, I placed the chopped up bacon on top of my egg things. It made the egg things taste completely different. I have a few of the sans bacon egg things left and I am so excited each time to happen to choose a bacon egg thing.
Enjoy!

My First Embroidery Experience
While I was on vacation last week I stayed at my cousins. While she was helping me get sheets and stuff for bed she asked which blankets I wanted to use. I immediately recognized one of them. It was a quilt that I helped make!
A long time ago my Aunt (who happens to be my cousins mom) decided a perfect gift for our Memere would be to make her a quilt. It wouldn't be any ordinary quilt. Each piece would have a personalized rectangle by each of the kids, spouses, and grand kids.
Before I folded the blanket up to put it away I snapped a quick shot of my square.
I was dumb and didn't take a picture of the whole thing to show you how creative and beautiful it is. Sleeping with it made me feel a little closer to my Memere again. How we all love her and miss her so much.
If my cousin gets back to me with a photo of the whole thing I will add it. :)
EDIT!!!! Melanie got back to me and sent me a photo!

What I'm Reading Monday - Lola!
Happy Monday!!!
Just got back from a team-building thing at work and my Myers-Briggs type has basically stayed the same. I am still waaaaay to the Judging side.
Anyway.
I finally finished up Anna and the French Kiss this weekend. It was cute! I really did enjoy it and I was hanging on there until the end. I am glad at how it ended but it was a little painful there for a chapter or two.
I then immediately started reading the companion novel Lola and the Boy Next Door. About three chapters in I am very curious who this new character is that moved back next door. I have been enjoying the change of pace from Anna and the French Kiss.
I am so close to finishing up with this book. I am getting worried how it will end since I have only one and a 1/3rd disks left. It does not seem like it will be able to have concise ending (which I so crave). I found out that there are more books in this series! Two more to make up the trilogy, a prequel, AND a book between the second and third. I have no idea if they are on audio books or not but I know that I have to find them and read them. I am hooked!!
I haven't quite decided which audio book I will listen to next. I might just have to do eenie meanie minie mo to pick one.
Happy reading!!

Pinterest Pick - Hummus
Publix had a buy one get one sale on Sabra Hummus this past week. I tried their Roasted Red Pepper Hummus on the way back home from GA and I LOVED it. So I may be on a bit of a kick now... I have eaten it just about every day this week...
So it is only appropriate that my Pinterest Pick this week would be hummus.
But not just any kind of hummus, but sweet potato hummus. Here is the pin link. But it appears to have come from this blog. I am not sure how I would like it being a little spicy and sweet, but I think I really want to try it!! I will have to see if I can find all of the ingredients at the grocery the next time I go.
I do have to say that in checking out the websites I think I may have to try out a few of the recipes the Pinterest link brings you...
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday! We are checking out houses today and I am praying we find a good one!

Food Friday - Angel Food Cake Win
So I am going to share with you the Angel Food Cake my mom and I made that actually came out right!!
Please remember the recipe here.
Mix the first ingredients. My mom wanted to make sure to put the eggs in the bowl first since last time it didn't seem to mix right.
Don't forget the vanilla!
In a second bowl mix the second set of ingredients. You will notice that there is no green powder this time. My mom made sure to buy the right kind this time.
We attempted to follow the directions to the letter this time. We mixed the eggs until fluffy just like we were supposed to.
Then we added the dry ingredients and it got even fluffier!
Then we filled the cake pan with the mixture. We did it in the two sections. We think it might be because it helps avoid air bubbles.
Here it is fresh out of the oven. Look at how high it rose!
The center of the pan has a cylinder that is very large and the only thing we could find that would fit was a coffee cup! It was comical trying to explain to my dad why we needed it to be upside down and why the cake wouldn't fall out of it.
After it was all cooled we turned it over and it looks almost exactly like when my uncle made it for us.
We think the one side fell because it must not have had enough batter to make it all even inside.
My piece of "birthday" angel food cake! I think it looks like an alligator, and airplane, or a car. :)
Add fresh cut strawberries and you have perfection!
