WE HAVE A FENCE!!!!!! And the old yucky fence is gone!!
I am sorry I have no pictures yet because when I left for work today it was too dark.
I was so happy last night when I saw it I almost burst!
Now I can start being excited about something else. :)

Photos of whats been happening
Just like I said yesterday I am back today with some pictures!!!
Jon's mom contacted the county about the drainage problem we were having and this is what happened. They dug up our front yard. Now we have grass there.
There were a ton of trash bags from this past weekend. This is a shot from the house.
Here is a close up.
And here is a shot of how much nicer the back yard is looking. A whole world of difference from what it was before.
And finally with all of that crazy ass wind last weekend our gazebo thing flew apart. Jon said that a piece of it was hanging in the pool!

The only problem is that it is a little steep to park there.
Then there is the back yard. Jon's parents have been working like crazy back there. I did help to get this crappy chicken wire out of there. I have to say the back fence looks a whole lot better.

That's all I got for now since I am hungry and dinner is almost ready. :)

Delays
Sadly there is no fence in our yard yet. Due to the rain we recently had they had to push our date back to the 11th at the earliest. Yes you read that correctly, the earliest. I am sad to say the least. BUT, we are still going to be getting a fence.
I am slowly working to organize the last remaining boxes, odds and ends. It is difficult because I have a desire to get rid of things but some just don't want to be tossed yet. Slowly. That is my plan. If I give myself time to think about it enough I may just decide to get rid of it.
I have some photos I took this morning of the huge yard trash pile that Jon's parents (and Jon) have cleared out of the yard. (I'll try to get those up tomorrow). My biggest contribution was to remove the chicken wire from the back part of the fence. It made the raking so much easier.
Well I am off for a quick walk before my girls night. I must win my diet competition again. And you know get healthier too.

House update and some me stuff
Well it has obviously been a while since I posted last.... again.
BUT a lot has happened around here.
We found out the pool does not have a leak... but the pool pump might.
We have the counter tops in! No more counter made up of 4 different pieces.
We have been approved to place our fence where the old fence was (new regulations was going to cause it to run smack through the middle of our septic drain field). Said new fence should begin going up March 4th! I am one happy girl since they will also be taking out the ugly old fence around the pool.
We have door handles on the kitchen cabinets. I don't have to worry about breaking my finger nails trying to open them anymore.
We had purchased an entertainment console to hold all of the game systems and DVR. Only the next weekend to find out we did not have enough space because Jon was gifted a pretty awesome surround sound system. Today we bought one more cabinet to add to what we already had.
Almost all of the light switches have their face plates back on and that makes them look so much prettier.
The kitten thinks she runs the place and likes to jump up on the kitchen counters to look out the kitchen window.
Jon's parents organized more tree removing since we had a few level 3 invasive trees. The yard looks so empty and if you can imagine smaller at the same time.
And now to me stuff:
I entered a diet competition with some of my co-workers last month. We all had to pay in $25 and whoever made their goal would split the pot! Well... I WON!!! After the websites fee I walked away with $68!!! So what did I do with it? I joined the second round competition to keep up loosing weight. I may have also convinced Jon to join in too. :)
I will have to gather some photos of all the progress for you tomorrow. :)

MLK 2013
I am spending my MLK day 2013 doing some cleaning, lunching, and photo editing. I can remember last year I had a HUGE day of crafting planned and I didn't get near enough of it done. This year my goals are much more realistic.
I have even managed to accomplish several things already!
I consolidated three bins into two that should be able to make a trip up to the attic sometime soon. They happen to have the last holdouts from my teaching. Those activity games and such that I just spent too much money on to give away or try to sell at a yard sale. I figure that I will want them when I end up having kids so up in the attic they will go.
I have placed all of the jackets that Jon and I have gone though this week in a bin ready for yard sale. Hopefully I can manage the strength to go through my closet and get rid of a few more things of mine.
I am currently doing some laundry and editing some photos from our New York trip back in June!
I am planning to have them all edited today so that I can place them into the photo book. I have two Groupon vouchers that expire in February and I don't want to miss out on the deals we purchased. I have to say that I am making fairly steady progress.
I will be heading to lunch with Kellee shortly. We are trying out a new pizza place that has gluten free! Don't worry, I will be taking photos and will give a full report later.
I hope everyone is having a great MLK day and those of you that had to work, I enjoyed my day extra just for you. :)
Much love,
Amanda

I am using my iLuv that Jon got me for Christmas. It is a super great little speaker! |

Slowly getting back on track
Hello!!
I know that I have been missing for over three months now but I am planning to be around more often. It all started when JON BOUGHT A HOUSE. We got kind of busy there.
We are all moved in and through most of the boxes. I will be writing about the transformation (once I can get access to the crazy amounts of pictures that Jon's Dad took) here over the course of a few weeks. I also have more gluten-free reviews to share.
I will be doing a 2012 wrap-up of my favorites from the year and what I hope to accomplish in 2013. I still can't believe it is 2013 already. And I missed my 1 year blog-iversary on the 6th. :( Oh, well, I'll have to catch it next year.
Well, that is all for now. I have to figure out what to do for dinner. And Julie, was this a good enough welcome back post for ya? :)
Boy, I missed this.

Pinterest Pick: Pintester
Okay so my pick today isn't actually a recipe or a home idea. It is a blog!
She is the self proclaimed Pin tester. She actually tries out the pins that she... well pins...
But you have to understand that she does not always test the pin according to the exact recipe or process provided by the pin. She gets creative when she doesn't have all of the ingredients. So most of her pins don't turn out very well. However, she seems to test them in such a way that a normal person would.
Like, you are trying to decide what to do for dinner and you search Pinterest and find a recipe but you don't exactly have all of the ingredients. You decide to make it anyway.
And I totally think that is how I would test some of my pins.
Regardless she is a hilarious story teller and her pictures are priceless.... and mostly embarrassing.
So you should check her out!
Oh and me? I am still sick. My glands hurt. Trying to take it easy and drink. Water! I mean water! ;)
