So it appears that the house getting will not occur until next week. BIG BUMMER. Some last minute changes to the termite report and what not is causing some more last minute changes. Now it looks like a day next week will be the day. I know that Jon was very much hoping to get the keys on Friday so that we could get in there and start painting.
This also pushes back the timeline for everything else... hopefully everything will start asap so we can move in without any further drama.
I am ecstatic that I can no longer say we have no appliances for the house.
First Jon's parent surprised him (and me) by finding beautiful kitchen appliances. They could almost pass for brand new! The fridge drawers pull out and the freezer space is so much larger than what we have now!
Second my neighbors from home happened to have a washer/dryer set that they were hoping to sell. In an act of huge kindness they decided to give them to Jon and I. AND deliver them!
I am completely touched by all of them for helping the transition into home ownership easier and I am very blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. I feel much better about everything now because I know that we will be able to cook food and clean our clothes. Even if we don't have A/C in the place yet. :)
In other news being sicky feeling yesterday allowed me to come home and spend some cuddle time with the kitten. It just so happened to storm pretty badly for a while and I knew the kitten was glad I was home with her. I am feeling more sicky today and I really hope that resting today will kick it out. Plus I am hoping all of the water and tea I am drinking will just flush whatever the sicky is out.
Other than that not much is going on.
You know, except that it is Friday tomorrow!!!

Pinterest Pick: Dreaming of Home
It has been a while.
This last week or two I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest. Mostly because I forgot how great it is.
My pinning focus has been more on house things because hopefully in less than two weeks Jon will be a home owner!
Insane right?! I still am in shock and not believing it is actually happening.
So there are quite a few things I found that I really would love to incorporate into the house.
I thought this pin was great because the bottom of closets (when shoes are not involved) is a bunch of wasted space. And this idea could totally be used for non-kid things.
I have been in love with the cloth square storage bins for a long long time. And maybe with this idea I could finally have them! Using IKEA bookshelves laid on their sides. I think this would be perfect underneath the windows of the living room in the house. Plus it would make for extra seating for when company comes! Because believe me, Jon will want to have plenty of people over.
The last pin today is how to plant a garlic. I had bought a bag of garlic bulbs and Jon found the other day that one of them sprouted! He made a comment how we should bring it over to his parents house. Well a few days later when I mentioned it again Jon had changed his mind. He wants to plant it at his house. Hopefully we can do that tomorrow, yea I know we don't have the house yet, but why not? Don't worry I will take pictures and share if it happens.
In other news, I have plans to see my friend today to help bake some cupcakes. I have already planned on bringing my own cupcake so that I am not tempted to eat a gluten-full cupcake. I can't wait!
Plus I got to spend some quality cuddle time with the kitten this morning. For like two hours. The. Best.
Happy Saturday!

What happens when I try to blog...
... is that my kitten decides that since I am obviously not going anywhere I can give her attention.
First she climbs up on the bench with me and stands on my lap.
She makes sure to look extra cute and meows. And she is a talker so she meows the whole time very loudly!
She gets really close to my face if I ignore her and keep working. And if that doesn't work...
She jumps up on the table to rub on the computer. Sometimes even tries to walk on the keyboard!
When that doesn't work she gets in front of the computer to get in my face again to say that she needs attention.
If that doesn't work (or she gets booted from the table) she goes for the next best thing. My foot, so that I can kinda pet her and that she can rub on.
She is such a cutie weirdo kitten and I love her. And I bet I could make that into a "If you don't pet the kitten" book along the same rhythm of a "If you give a mouse a cookie".

Long over due Burp Cloth reveal
First off I have to say that I got mail today. As in a super special surprise mail that isn't even really for me!! I am so excited!! It is killing me that I can't share it with you yet... someone special has to see it first.
Secondly, I have had this project done for what feels like AGES. I just have seemed to find other things that I wanted to blog about more. So now for the long awaited reveal of my cutesy baby burp cloth!!!
Now you may be thinking, "hey she already did a burp cloth that she showed us already". Yes, you are correct. I did share one set of burp cloths I made here. But the pack of burp cloths I had came with four and I had run out of rick rack so I decided to use some of the ribbon that I bought from the most lovely website Pick Your Plum.
I know, I have made you wait long enough. :) Soooo onto the picture parade!
I had one left over from this pack.
I had already washed and pressed the cloth so that it was nice a flat again (they sure do get wrinkly after being washed). I placed the cloth on the table and practiced with the ribbon to see how far around it would make it.
I began pinning at the top. I made sure to have some of the ribbon fold over the edge to decorate the back a little (making sure I had a nice clean edge).
The I pinned all of the way until I arrived at a corner. I finally decided I wanted to make the corner look a little different so I did this:
See how my finger is poking under the ribbon. That is my highly scientific way of showing how the fold was.
Then I finished pinning the rest of the way (I made it through the second corner and didn't have enough for the other two corners). Enter the blue ribbon!!
I pinned it all of the way around and did the corners in the same way.
I sewed the bad boy up with two seams of white thread. I was even very impressed with the straightness of the seams too!!
Here is what I did on the back. On the opposite corner the blue was overlapping the green. I think it gives it a little surprise so that back isn't so boring.
AND I even have some extra photoy goodness today! So I had the ribbon out and it was hanging over the end of the table and guess who decided to play with it...
Yes, it was the kitten. I love her. I will have to show you later what she does whenever the bf and I are at the table. Just killer cuteness... and possibly a little annoying.

More about Me
I hate to say that I am being lazy today but I am. I have an idea for a tutorial post but I just don't have the energy or brain power to organize it all up here for you.
So instead I am going to share some things about me!
First, the bf and I went to two concerts last week and they were FUN. and Jukebox the Ghost. Never heard of them? You should check them out. Very good stuff. My sister Staci LOVES Jukebox the Ghost and she couldn't make it to the concert. They are all super cool guys but the lead singer, Ben, was taking photos with some other fans and I asked if I could get one with him to show (off) to Staci.
Second, the bf has a so super cute kitten (well she isn't really a kitten anymore but we call her that) named Kairi. It is pronounced K-i-r-e. Totally not phonetically spelt but I didn't name her. She was a stray that he rescued and she just never left.
I know you just died from cuteness. :)
Third, I am almost finished getting laser hair removal on my legs. I LOVE it. I have not shaved since I started (I know a little TMI but it is true). However, this last time they must not have changed the spray stuff soon enough because my legs looked like this the next morning...
Supposedly this is normal but a first for me. It has calmed down to the point where it just looks like a really weird sunburn.
And lastly, I love when my hair is curly. I have naturally very straight hair and it does not hold a curl hardly at all. My sister (Staci again) got a Chi Curly thing for Christmas and used it on my hair and voila!:
CURLY HAIR!!! It even stayed fairly curly for the day after too!! I have yet to try to do this on my own... but I am sure it won't look half as good as she did it.
That is all for me. I am heading to my friends house for some Project Runway goodness and then Trivia!
I will have a real post tomorrow. And it is delicious!

Kellee's Frame Reveal
My friend Kellee had a tough day at work one day. Later that night we were hanging out a Jai Alai and she mentioned how she had thought if she had a visual reminder of calm it might help. I immediately volunteered to make one. I made sure to find out what word and what colors she would want.
I bought what I needed at Jo Ann's and got to work.
I printed a page with the word and sizing that I wanted (I made sure it would fit within the window of the frame). I taped the paper to the sliding glass door and traced the word on the tear-away paper.
I then pinned the fabric to the tear-away paper and placed it into the hoop.
I used my blue thread, thinning so that I had three strands and the doubled it so that I was embroidering using 6 strands with the basic backstitch.
Once I finished embroidering the word I then had to tear away the tear-y stuff. Getting it out from behind the tight embroidery was tough and I may rethink using it next time.
Once I got it all removed I admired the word. I ironed out the wrinkles from the hoop and put it into the frame.
I was so excited that she loved it. I wished I had not pulled the thread so tight (I don't like the wrinkles around the working). I hope that I can make some more and fine tune my technique enough to eventually sell some!
And because the Kitten was weird the other day I had to share this:
